I worked on taxes over the Presidents Day weekend.
A former president sold golden sneakers.
A river was released in California,
Free to follow its native path for the first time in decades.
The social order is changing
And we have to listen
to the river and the fish
to the voices crying for attention.
My eldest son went to a middle school dance
which feels like a misnomer
it should be called a social
He danced with a group of friends, ate snacks, looked sharp.
My youngest son and I built a house of sticks
It did not fall in the snow
because I told him
”Listen to the sticks”
I told him,
”If you force a stick, it will break,
but if you follow the curves
it will show you where it wants to go.”
Gold sneakers would do us no good
In sleet or snow or mud
They might shine on a dance floor
But the fun is had in being together, not in showing off.
Klamath River Dam Removal Project and its implications for the environment.
Love the house of sticks! and the way you taught your son to listen to them.
Your words shine brighter than any sneaker!
