Eve’s Hope “I have had a male child with the Lord's help.” The day of my deceiving may yet be undone. The deceiver will now receive his punishment. This male child shall break the curse I bear Oh that I had never listened to that serpent. But maybe my return to innocence may yet be achieved. Oh my son, how great was my pain in birthing you. The screams that I gave voice, frightened away your father. No animal dared approach me. Yet the Lord stayed near me, Even though I may not walk in Eden He did not abandon me. My son you must break the curse. I cannot bear the pain that I have brought to my dear creatures. Oh that I had been patient, To be like God was all I ever wanted, The fruit seemed so easy to fill that desire. And now you have a terrible job before you. You must strike the serpent down. You must not give in to impatience, But you are so small, your cries are so frail. You will learn to care for the fruit, growing it from the ground. You will care for all the creatures. Oh tiny one, you will be able to fix my sorrow. Oh tiny one, you will know the innocence that God made me in, You shall save us from this curse.
